Week One: January 17, 2018

This week we worked together as a group to create our Wix site for the capstone project. Additionally each of us created a social media account to go along with the site to share what we are working on. Each of the social media accounts are linked with the website and I am excited to share what we learn.

I also stated to look into the different aspects of biodynamic farming. Wanda gave us a celestial calendar that was a bit overwhelming to look at upon first glance. I am excited to look into it more to learn about what everything means. In regards to biodynamic farming I was able to learn that the practices of biodynamics was first created by Dr. Rudolf Steiner and his insights and suggestions are what shaped this type of agriculture.

For our project we are going to be working with the Pfeiffer Center which is an organization dedicated to practicing, promoting, and teaching about Biodynamics through many different programs. Pfeiffer also runs classes to teach people who are interested in the topic. The organizations farm is run by people dedicated to "creating a thriving future for our planet" (Pfeiffer Center). They hope to educate people on an agricultural approach that sees the Earth as more then just a material object. One quote that stuck out to me was "at the Pfeiffer Center, every living thing is honored" (Pfeiffer Center). I like this quote because it shows the importance of living things in the eyes of the organization.
