This week we discussed the "Protecting New Jersey" book. We discussed chapters 1-6. We each picked a quote from the book and reflected upon it. Every person brought up really good quotes. For example, I chose a quote about chromium byproducts. I brought up this quote because I really believe that it is important we all research and pay attention to the things happening in our environment. In the text, it said that people knew about the toxicity, yet they continued to use it everywhere. And Dr. Stark added to this by stating that when she was younger, she saw yellow oozing out of the highway. It is important to research odd things in nature because it will not only adversely affect us, but also the planet.

Katie brought up the Toms River water scandal. She stated that her mom never allowed her to drink the water. It ended up being because her mom never liked the taste, but Katie is so thankful that her mom never let her drink that water. Sabrina brought up the Boonton resevoir and how that hit close to home.
